Veterans, like the one shown above, were often the most outspoken when it came to protesting the War in Vietnam. Having experienced the violence firsthand, they lived with the responsibility of participating in what was increasingly becoming known as an unjust war.
Many veterans suffered from severe PTSD (post-traumatic stress disorder), and continued to have flashbacks to the horrific scenes they witnessed during their service. Raising awareness of the atrocities committed by the US military in Vietnam was often a means of redemption for soldiers, many of whom devoted their lives to the Anti-War Movement.
