This analysis performed on a sub-sample of the Workmen’s Circle national sample of American Jews. The sub-sample consists of those who are not Orthodox and who never attended a Jewish day school or yeshiva. These 888 respondents (drawn out of the national sample of 1,000 respondents nationwide) approximate those who have been eligible for participation in Birthright Israel since 1999. The full sample was weighted to reflect national demographic targets for education, age, gender, marital status, intermarriage, and number of Jewish parents. The survey was fielded April 19 to May 3, 2012.
