BREAK THE SYSTEM: Free Minds Workshop with Repair the World
January 26 @ 7:30 PM - 8:30 PM
In this interactive online experience, teens will meet with activists from Alabama, Arkansas, and New York to hear personal journeys touching on Jim Crow, poverty, mass incarceration, and the criminal justice system. Join us to hear first-hand accounts from those personally impacted by these issues, engage in dialogue, and participate in an interactive project. Special guests include Michelle and Curtis Browder, Kuntrell Jackson, and Hannah Grossman from Repair the World.
There is no fee for this program, but registration is required.

Join Hannah Grossman from Repair the World and Free Minds to learn about mass incarceration before we read and respond to poetry written by incarcerated youth. By providing positive feedback, we can help these poets feel heard and can help build connection and hope!
For this program you will need a computer or tablet and an internet connection. If you’ll be using your phone, we recommend downloading the Miro mobile app. Prior to the event, please take a minute to make an account at Miro.com.
Free Minds member, Derrick, recently wrote after receiving feedback on his poems, “I appreciate all the support…And also understanding. Hearing that some of my writing inspires people just blows my mind. I can’t even put it in words the way hearing that makes me feel.”
