Froyen shtim: Voices of Yiddish Women Poets of the 1920’s

We will be joined by special guest HINDA ENA BURSTIN; Yiddish writer and researcher who is passionate about retrieving forgotten works by Yiddish women poets and restoring their voices through readings and literary translations. She is coordinator of the Jacob Kronhill Program in Yiddish Language and Culture at Monash University, where she is also a lecturer in Yiddish language, literature and culture. She is currently completing her PhD on Yiddish women poets of the 1920s. Her work has most recently been published in Pakn Treger, The AALITRA Review and Women Writers of Yiddish Literature: Critical Essays. Yiddish is her mame-loshn/native language.
