The first Jewish American deli opened in 1888 in New York City. By the 1920s, delis had become a ubiquitous gathering place in Jewish and American life, with signature sandwiches a menu standard. As part of our Taste of Jewish Culture series, join us for delicious tastings of delicacies, along with a presentation by Ben’s Deli chefs and managers on the Jewish history and culture of delis in NYC and around the United States.
