A Vigil Remembering, Committing, and Taking Action for Black Lives
June 11 @ 12:00 PM - 12:30 PM
On Thursday, June 11 at 12:00pm, the Workers Circle will host an online vigil that draws upon our social justice and Yiddishkayt traditions to pledge ourselves to the deep ongoing work necessary to end the white racial violence in our nation that has terrorized Black people and taken countless Black lives for generations. From this gathering we will commit to using the privilege, financial resources, public voice, and consumer power of our community for the movement for Black Lives.
The vigil will include the music of Klezmer singer-songwriter and activist, Dan Kahn, remarks by Ann Toback, CEO of the Workers Circle, Board Members, college students, and feature Yolanda Savage-Narva, Executive Director of Operation Understanding-DC.
This event will be streamed live on the Workers Circle Facebook page
and a recording will be available for viewing afterwards.
