Until the 1840s, approximately 85 percent of registered taverns were leased by Jews, many of whom made their own wares. Workers Circle CEO Ann Toback discusses how Jews influenced alcohol distillation while showing us how to make our own liquors inspired by traditional Jewish recipes.

This event is part of The Great Big Jewish Food Fest, which seeks to celebrate the diversity of Jewish food, from its rich global history, its diversity of flavors and identities, its religious and cultural foundations, and its intersection with modernity.
