The Workers Circle is New York’s leading center for Yiddish language instruction, and the largest provider of Yiddish language classes in the U.S. outside of academic institutions. Our instructors, led by our master teacher Kolya Borodulin, are experts in the field. Our students (including teens and young adults) share a passion for the Jewish culture of Eastern Europe and its amazing literature, music, theater, and more.
Curious about Yiddish? Watch this introductory video by our Director of Yiddish Programming Kolya Borodulin:
Whatever your Yiddish proficiency, from absolute beginner to total maven, we’ve got a class for you, in person or online, at every age and stage of life. We also offer an immersive summer program — our annual Trip to Yiddishland at our Circle Lodge retreat center in Hopewell Junction, New York.
Thank you to the Slomo and Cindy Silvian Foundation, Chaim Schwartz Foundation, Marinus and Minna B. Koster Foundation and The Atran Foundation for their support of our Yiddish programming.
