Civil Disobedience at the White House

Americans’ freedom to vote is under attack. Jewish tradition and experience demand we not stand idly by. Will you join us in civil disobedience at the White House on Wednesday, November 17 as we call on President Biden to use the full power of his office to get the Freedom to Vote Act and John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act signed into law?

On Wednesday, November 3 the Workers Circle sent its largest delegation to date to engage in civil disobedience at the White House with civil rights, democracy, and student partners. Amongst those arrested were:

• Ann Toback, CEO
• Rich Rumelt, President
• Sally Guttmacher, Board Member
• Noelle Damico, Director of Social Justice
• Laurence Broun, Workers Circle activist
• Noa Baron, College Organizer
• 7 students from the Workers Circle College Network

Our activism is having an impact! President Biden acknowledged that activist pushing to and the filibuster to pass voting rights legislation “make a very good point,” adding “We’re going to have to move to the point where we fundamentally alter the filibuster.”
