Selma to Montgomery March

The Workers Circle is joining Black Voters Matter, the League of Women Voters, People for the American Way, and the Transformative Justice Coalition in Alabama for the 57th anniversary of the Selma to Montgomery march. Now is the time to join this movement to protect the right to vote. We are going to march in the steps of John Lewis, Martin Luther King, Jr., and the thousands of other freedom fighters whose courage and sacrifice won the right to vote for millions of Black Americans. Help us make history as we march to insist that the promise of American democracy work for all of us.

John Lewis proclaimed that "The vote is precious. It is most sacred. It is the most powerful non-violent tool we have in a democracy." Voting is the cornerstone of American democracy. The truest realization of our own freedom is bound to our capacity to determine our own destiny and elect our own leaders.

This is the time. We are the people.

The Workers Circle delegation to Alabama is now closed. But if you are planning to attend the march on your own, please register with Black Voters Matter.

Watch the livestream on March 9 on the Worker’s Circle Facebook page.
