Sukkot Democracy Circle at The Neighborhood in Brooklyn

Looking for a meaningful Jewish way to support democracy this election season? The Workers Circle is proud to partner with The Neighborhood and the Center for Common Ground to bring you a very special Sukkot Democracy Circle in Brooklyn. This family-friendly gathering will encourage participants of all ages to think about and discuss their relationship to democracy, and to do it in celebration of the Jewish holiday Sukkot with themes of hospitality, shelter, and honoring ancestors.

This gathering will feature a text bank training, as well as music, art, and community conversations about this critical moment in our democracy.

Democracy Circles are small groups of people who join together to demand the democracy we need; a truly multi-racial, multi-cultural democracy that represents all of us. Democracy Circle participants are invited to draw upon their own diverse experiences–personal, historical, and cultural–as a critical foundation for our collective engagement.

Everyone who wishes to build a “better and more beautiful world for all” is welcome at this family-friendly gathering! Please bring a smart phone to participate in the text banking activity.

Sukkot Democracy Circle is presented by The Neighborhood: An Urban Center for Jewish Life as a part of Sukkot in The Neighborhood in partnership with the Workers Circle.
