Position Overview:
Marketing and Communications Manager – New York City, Hybrid position
We are seeking a Marketing and Communications Manager with a passion for graphic design, art inspiration, and social media strategy. The ideal candidate is process-oriented, highly detailed, and skilled at managing multiple projects while maintaining focus and follow-through. In this role, you will collaborate closely with all departments, including Social Justice and Yiddish culture, to create visually compelling materials and execute creative campaigns. Reporting to the Associate Director of Marketing and Communications, you will play a key role in shaping our brand’s visual identity, producing engaging social media content, and ensuring the success of both small and large projects from start to finish.
Key Responsibilities:
Marketing Strategy and Campaign Development
Develop and implement marketing strategies to raise awareness and drive engagement with the community.
Create compelling messaging and designs for campaigns supporting fundraising events, newsletters, and the yearly Impact Report.
Strategize and collaborate with internal teams, external vendors, and partner organizations to produce high-quality creative materials.
Social Media and Digital Communications
Oversee and manage social media efforts, including content creation, scheduling, and audience engagement.
Monitor and stay current on social media algorithms, platform updates, and global trends to ensure content remains engaging, relevant, and optimized for maximum reach.
Design and execute digital campaigns to strengthen brand presence and community connections.
Analyze and report on the effectiveness of marketing campaigns using analytics tools to inform future strategies.
Audience Targeting and List Management
Develop targeted communications to reach specific audiences, ensuring alignment with the organization’s mission.
Manage and maintain audience lists to ensure accurate segmentation and personalization of messages.
Creative Storytelling and Branding
Create content that tells a compelling story, highlighting the impact of the organization’s work.
Ensure all materials align with the brand voice, tone, and visual identity.
Research and leverage emerging social media trends, viral content, and cultural moments to create timely, relevant content.
Special Event Support
Provide logistical and creative support for in-person and virtual special events, with a focus on strategic communications and audience engagement.
Administrative and Cross-Departmental Collaboration
Coordinate with various departments to ensure marketing needs are met in a timely and effective manner.
Provide administrative support to the marketing team as needed, including organizing materials and maintaining schedules.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
5–7 years of experience in marketing or communications.
Strong written and verbal communication skills with a creative mindset.
Experience with social media management and digital marketing tools (e.g., Hootsuite, Google Analytics).
Familiarity with design software (e.g., Canva), CMS platforms (e.g., WordPress/Squarespace), and email marketing systems (e.g., EveryAction CRM).
Ability to work collaboratively and independently in a fast-paced environment.
Proficiency in video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, CapCut, or similar tools).
Preferred Skills:
Experience in creating and executing storytelling campaigns.
Non-profit experience a plus
A portfolio of previous design work a plus
Knowledge of analytics tools to measure marketing effectiveness.
Passion for community engagement and mission-driven work.
