Report from a Democracy Roadtrip to North Carolina
North Carolina has some of the strictest Voter ID requirements in the country that target voters of color.
On Saturday October 26, 2024, twenty five Workers Circle activists from across the country joined Team Unity-Mecklenberg and the Center for Common Ground in Charlotte, NC. Our mission: to form a multiracial force for voting rights and knock on as many doors of Black voters as we could to make sure they had the nonpartisan information they needed to navigate these new voter suppression laws and cast their ballots.
Together with community members we knocked on 1,402 doors and provided information on Voter ID requirements, early voting, and polling locations.
