(New York, N.Y. ) — The Workers Circle is proud to announce the launch of "Demand Democracy, Fight Fascism," an initiative that builds on the incredible success of its Hot Democracy Summer campaign that has already reached 500,0000+ voters in vote-suppressed states. Demand Democracy, Fight Fascism will reach 1 million voters prior to the November election to equip people with critical information to make a successful voting plan to navigate new restrictions between them and the ballot box.

This fall, voters in dozens of  states will face significant obstacles, including voter purges, decreased polling places, new ID requirements, the elimination of ballot drop boxes, and restrictions on vote-by-mail options. By providing crucial information on when, where, and how, and what ID voters need to cast their ballots, the initiative seeks to empower individuals to break barriers to voting.

"Right now, it’s us versus voter suppression," said Ann Toback, CEO of the Workers Circle. "In our upcoming election, voters in almost half the country will face new voting restrictions. That is unacceptable, and we’re doing everything we can to equip voters with the non partisan information they need to overcome barriers to casting their ballots.”

As part of Demand Democracy, Fight Fascism, the Workers Circle invites individuals to participate in a series of events designed to educate and mobilize communities. These events will equip voters with the knowledge and resources needed to exercise their democratic right to vote and help others to do the same. It will also provide opportunities to call on Congress to remove all of these barriers and ensure our freedom to vote by passing the John R. Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act, the Freedom to Vote Act, the Native American Voting Rights Act, and the Washington, D.C. Admission Act.

“At this decisive hour for our nation and its people, we are inspired by the Jewish imperative, ‘Do not stand idly by,’” adds Toback. “We invite everyone to join us in the fight against voter suppression.”
