WORKERS CIRCLE CONDEMNS PRESIDENT TRUMP’S DAY ONE PARDON OF JANUARY 6 INSURRECTIONISTS

On January 20, 2025 President Trump pardoned 1,500 January 6 attackers the majority of whom engaged in violence during the insurrection in an attempt to overturn the results of the 2020 presidential election. In doing so, the President has publicly condoned and legitimized political violence. In pardoning loyalists whose actions were in support of his failed candidacy and who aimed to override the will of the voters, he has abandoned the cornerstone commitment to the peaceful transition of power that has defined our nation since its founding.

The Workers Circle condemns these pardons in the strongest possible terms.
