The Workers Circle Visits Congressional Offices in Washington, DC

Sammie, Ann, and Noelle with Rep. Cori Bush, D-MO. The Congresswoman’s staff loved our democracy circles as a way to deepen grassroots engagement and Noelle will be following up with them with more information.

As the 118th Congress opened, CEO Ann Toback, Director of Social Justice Noelle Damico, and Washington, DC-based Public Policy Consultant Sammie Moshenberg met with House and Senate leaders in Washington, DC. They discussed the Workers Circle's legislative priorities for the next session of Congress and made key connections that will bolster our impact. Check out photos below.

Ann and Noelle with newly elected Congresswoman Nikki Budzinski, D-IL. The Congresswoman comes from a long history of labor activism and we talked about the intersection of worker rights and democracy.

With Congresswoman Barbara Lee (D-CA), a longstanding progressive light in Congress.

Noelle congratulated Senator Catherine Cortez Masto (D-NV) on her re-election, urged her to prioritize federal voting rights legislation, and thanked her for her critical vote to strip the anti-immigrant amendments from the omnibus spending bill in December.

Senator Jacky Rosen (D-NV) expressing her appreciation for the Workers Circle on our bold activism for democracy and voting rights to Noelle.

Ann talking with newly elected Congressman Jared Moskowitz (D-FL) about how our Jewish values drive our work to strengthen and expand our American democracy.

Ann and Congresswoman Jan Schakowsky (D-IL), a longstanding and effective advocate for workers in particular.

Ann with newly elected Congresswoman Deborah Ross (D-NC) and Congresswoman Cathy Manning (D-NC). North Carolina is ground-zero for voter suppression and gerrymandering that is leading to minority rule in our nation. They were pleased to know we’re signatories on the Moore v. Harper amicus and coordinated a Jewish sign-on letter to increase public knowledge about how this case risks upending our nation’s checks and balances on state legislatures.

We thought you’d like this nice shot of the US Capitol as the sun set at the close of a long and fruitful day of Workers Circle advocacy.
