Mondays 6:30–8:00PM: Oct. 28, Nov. 4, 11, 18, 25, Dec. 2, 9, 16, 23, 30

Course Goals: Aaron Alexander will teach a klezmer workshop focusing on repertoire from the German Goldenshteyn albums he played poyk on: "A Living Tradition"  and The Goldenshteyn Legacy Band CD,  "The Tradition Lives."   We explored some of this repertoire over the summer and the students asked to continue exploring the Goldenshteyn repertoire because the tunes are so interesting and fun to play. We look forward to digging into this repertoire again. Alexander teaches melodies, ornamentation and accompaniment on fidl. Classes will focus on learning repertoire, rhythms, forms, modes, ornamentation and more.

Course Tools: Charts in proper keys will be provided as well as play-along mp3s in different tempi.
